Psyonix, the developer, continues to actively support the recently adopted shareware monetization model of Rocket League. They announced that the Rocket League Season 2 will start on December 9th.
The start of the new season is scheduled for December 9, 2020. The creators of the game made it clear that it will receive many new experimental modes with time limits, as well as new features. Psyonix accompanied the announcement with a short neon-themed video.
What’s new in Rocket League Season 2?
The announcement brought with itself fresh information about the new update. The Player Anthems option will be added to the game. It will allow players to choose music, which going to play after they score a goal. In addition, the game will feature:
- New music from DJ Kaskade;
- Battle Pass with a music theme and a premium version with weekly and seasonal challenges, as well as exclusive skins;
- New Neon Fields arena;
- Return of the Rocket Labs mode.
The developers say that they will continue to improve their car-football game, Rocket League, for the new-gen consoles Xbox Series X and S, as well as fix minor issues.

The Rocket League was originally released on July 7, 2015, on Steam. The developers switched the game to a free distribution model on September 23, 2020, at the same time it “moved” from the Valve store to the Epic Games Store.
